Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) Mr Ali Raza Syed has praised the EU’s parliament for issuing a fresh document on Kashmir issue specially human right violations in Indian Held Kashmir.
The EU’s parliament on Wednesday issued the documents containing history of 70- year old dispute of Kashmir, its damaging impact on development in South Asia, UN’s resolutions, Struggle of people against the India rule and human rights violations in IHK.
It said, at the end of document which was issued by The EU’s parliament research service, it has been prepared for, and addressed to, the Members and staff of the European Parliament as background material to assist them in their parliamentary work.
In the context of human right, the EU’s document specifically mentioned recent UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein’s recent report who called to curb excessive use of force by the Indian security forces, which has led to unlawful killings and a very high number of injuries
Welcoming the EU’s parliament document, Chairman KC-EU said, there should be an international investigation into human rights violations in IHK specially EU should play its role for prevention of the violations.
All the criminals involved in human rights violations in IHK should also be trailed through the international court of law, Ali Raza Syed maintained.
The international investigation into severe violence in IHK was a long-lasting demand of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and for that we appreciate the struggle of people working for protection and highlighting of human rights in IHK including Mr Pervaiz Imroz Advocate.
Chairman KC-EU also lauded the work of European personalities and human rights organisation including Ms Marjan Locus for highlighting the issue of Kashmir for a long time. He also appreciated many of the MEPs including Dr Sajjad Karim for their long standing support to the human rights in IHK.
Ali Raza Syed called for final political solution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute through meaningful dialogue that includes the people of Kashmir.
It is important to mention that the United Nations in its first-ever human rights report on Jammu and Kashmir last month has called for an urgent need to address past and ongoing human rights violations and abuses and deliver justice to all people in Kashmir.
The main focus of the 49-page report released by the United Nations Human Rights Office in Geneva, remained on the human rights situation in the Indian occupied Kashmir from July 2016 to April 2018. It said that people of Kashmir had been suffering a conflict for seven decades that had claimed or ruined numerous lives.
Chairman Kashmir Council EU asked international community including UN and EU to pressure India for implementation of UN’s resolutions on Kashmir in order provide right of self-determination to the people of Kashmir.
The international community should immediately intervene and stop human rights violation in IHK and play an effective role for just resolution of Jammu and Kashmir dispute, Chairman Kashmir Council EU urged.
